Connection Wizard

Introduction

The Connection Setup Wizard enables quick deployment of cross-account IAM roles and permission policies to connect the Cloudsaver Platform to AWS environments.

Required before starting:

  • AWS Management Account ID
  • AWS account credentials (CLI or management console access)
  • Permission to create IAM roles and policies
  • AWS CLI installed (if using CLI method)

Get Started

After initial platform login:

  1. Click Settings (bottom left)
  2. Select Connect to Cloudsaver at window top
  3. Click Get Started

The "Let's Get Connected" window appears. Team members with necessary permissions can be invited to complete setup if required information isn't available.

Once all required information is gathered, click Next.

Deployment Options

Three connection methods are available: CLI, CloudFormation, and Terraform.

CLI Process

  1. Click Select CLI
  2. Choose the CLI script matching your operating system
  3. Click Copy (upper right corner) to copy the authorization token
  4. Paste the script into your terminal
  5. Press Enter
  6. Upon successful connection, a green checkmark appears next to "Connect Successful"
  7. Click View Connection to see all added connections

CloudFormation / Terraform

Both methods follow similar download procedures:

  1. Click Select CloudFormation or Select Terraform
  2. Enter your 12-digit Management Account ID
  3. Upon validation, "Valid Account ID" displays with a green checkmark
  4. Cloudsaver prepares a YAML file (CloudFormation) or .tf file (Terraform)
  5. Download the appropriate file
  6. Upload to your AWS Management Account
  7. After connectivity verification, click View Connections to confirm successful connections

For detailed Terraform instructions, refer to the dedicated Terraform documentation. For CloudFormation StackSet deployment details, see the AWS CloudFormation connection article.
