Using the Tag Consolidation Tool

Overview

The Tag Consolidation Tool allows you to merge multiple tag key variations into a single standardized format across your entire cloud infrastructure. This is essential for maintaining consistent tagging practices across hundreds of accounts and regions.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Follow these steps to consolidate tag keys using the Tag Consolidation Tool:

1. Click on Tag Intelligence in the navigation menu.
2. Click on Tag Consolidation to open the consolidation view.
3. Select the tag keys you want to consolidate. Do not select a tag key that is already formatted correctly as this will slow down the change process.
4. Click on Update Keys to begin the renaming process.
5. Type the desired/correct key value that will be used to replace the other keys.
6. Click on Review to verify the changes before applying.
7. Click on Rename Tag Keys to apply the consolidation.
8. Monitor the statusof the change task by clicking the "Tag Update Task" pop up.

The Tag Consolidation Tool processes changes across all connected accounts and regions in a single operation, eliminating the need to update tags individually in each environment.
