Batch Processing

Introduction

This article explains how to assign, remove, and rename tags within the Tag Manager system. The recommended workflow involves first identifying resources needing tagging activity using the search and filtering capabilities described in the Query Engine documentation.

Batch Assign Tags to Resources

To assign tags to multiple resources:

  1. Open the Tag Manager Dashboard and select "Tag Explorer" from the left sidebar
  2. The Tag Explorer displays all resources organized by Resource ID, Account ID, Type, and other attributes
  3. Check the boxes for resource IDs requiring tag assignments
  4. Click "Update Tags" in the upper right corner
  5. A popup window appears with options including "Add tags," "Remove tags," "Rename tag keys," and "Rename tag values"
  6. In the Add Tags tab, complete the fields for tag key and tag value
  7. Click the + symbol to add additional tags to the same batch
  8. Click "Add Tags" to apply changes

Batch Tag Edit

Remove Tags: Complete the value field for tags to be removed. Use the + symbol to remove multiple tags in one operation.

Rename Tag Keys: Complete fields for existing tag keys requiring renaming. The + symbol allows renaming multiple keys simultaneously.

Rename Tag Values: Enter the tag name, select the value to replace, and specify a replacement value. Use the + symbol for batch renaming of multiple values.

All editing operations support the same workflow pattern for handling multiple changes efficiently.
