Query Engine
Overview
The Query Engine is a feature within the Tag Manager Dashboard that enables users to explore and manage cloud resources and their tags.
Accessing Tag Explorer
Users can access the Tag Explorer dashboard by clicking the Tag Manager tab in the left sidebar and selecting the Tag Explorer option. This displays all resources within the connected environment, organized in columns showing Resource ID, Account ID, Type, and other relevant data.
Customization Features
The dashboard offers several customization options:
- Column Management: Click the triple-bar menu icon at the top right to add or delete columns. Users can select which columns to display and save their preferences.
- Column Reordering: Click and drag column headers to change their presentation order.
- Sorting: Click any column name tab to sort in ascending or descending order.
Search and Filter Capabilities
The dashboard provides robust filtering and search functionality:
- Search Function: Type specific terms in the Search window to locate resources.
- Advanced Filtering: Use the Filter tab to refine results by selecting Field, Operator, and Value parameters at a granular level.
- Multiple Filters: Apply multiple filters simultaneously by clicking the Filter tab again.
- Column Filtering: Click a column name to filter by that specific column.
- Clear Filters: Remove all filters using the triple-bar menu option.
Resource Details and Monitoring
Click a resource in the Resource ID column to view detailed information, including CloudWatch and CloudTrail metadata and metrics.
Purpose
The Query component helps identify resources requiring tag modifications, with capabilities for assigning, removing, and renaming tags across cloud environments.
